While on our trip to Beavers Bend, Cory and I were paddle boat riding and Logan was in my lap. Landan was upstream in his kayak. Paddle boating is a little harder than it looks, and a good work out. Logan was eating his snow cone and I looked at Cory and said I could take a nap right here. He laughed and said ok, just put your feet on each side of the boat and let me take over. I jumped at that and said are you sure? He said yes. It only lasted for a few short minutes and he said ok, I need your help. Landan had gone up the river and was going to stop in front of the fly shop. He was in sight and I wanted to get to him faster. I started paddling with all my might. Cory said, "wow- did it just get easier?" I laughed and said, no I just started paddling. (ha ha) We both had a little laugh and then met up with Landan. Cory decided to tip Landan over while in his kayak and he had a little trouble getting back in, but he made it. The paddle downstream was much easier.
That night while in the camper, all the boys were asleep and I had my quiet time. Just me and Jesus. I love our talks together. This just really stirred in my heart what he shared with me and I began to cry. He reminded me of our paddle boat ride today. He said you know, I am always by your side (by the way- this is one of my favorite songs by Tenth Avenue North!). He said sometimes we are both working side by side, pedaling at the same speed and going through your journey at a comfortable speed. Sometimes you really need a rest and I will be like your husband was today and said, put your feet to the side and let me take over. You rest your tired feet and let me do all the work. Other times He is going to ask me to give it all I've got with all my might. I may get weary at times, but He is always by my side and never leaves me!
As he was sharing this with me, it painted the most precious picture in my mind. He is always by your side, no matter what you may be going through. I pray that you will be able to grasp His amazing, undeniable, everlasting love for you and that He will always be with you throughout your journey. Upstream, downstream, and everything in between, He is right there pedaling right along beside you. May He bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you and give you peace! today and always!
