How did 2 years pass by so quickly? My last post was when Logan turned 3 years old... Really??!! We just celebrated his 5th birthday in May. Time flies when you are having fun! I have lots to catch up on and tons of new things to share, but first wanted to share what is on my heart about INSPIRATION...
Driving home from the Ranger game a month ago, Logan said "I am ready to take my training wheels off my bicycle Dad." Logan had asked me a few weeks before, but I said sweetie i think you might want to wait until you get a little bit bigger. He looked at me with those dreamy blue eyes as if to say "but mommy I am bigger!"
So this time he decided to ask his Dad. His Dad's first response was "ok son as soon as we get home we can take those training wheels off!" So Logan could not wait to get home and hurry to the garage. Dad and son used their tools to take off the training wheels quickly and Logan was ready to go. Daddy held on to the back of his bicyle seat for less than 3 seconds, and he was off, pedaling as fast as his 5 year old legs could go!! He was so excited and laughing and knew he could do it all by himself! Cory said "he is so determined and when he makes up in his mind that he can do something... He will do it!"
He circled around on his bicycle with such a big grin on his face as he looked at me. "Look Mommy, watch me go. I told you I was big enough! I can ride my bicycle with NO training wheels!" I watched him with sheer delight and could not help but think, I do not want to hold him back from anything! I want to let him learn and grow and fly on his own! I smiled and followed behind him camera in hand and was laughing all the way.
I whispered... Logan, you are my inspiration!
Then all of the sudden that 70's song popped in my head that i have not heard in years by Chicago "You're the inspiration." So i typed the words in search for youtube video and sat on my front porch as I watched Logan ride his bicycle around the cul-de-sac. I swayed back and forth to the 70's tune, I am sure my neighbors were laughing on the inside at me!
A few weeks later I walked in to CVS to grab some water bottles before heading across the street to Liberty Garden (one of my all time favorite places to have a date with God). I walked up to the cooler to get the water bottle and there in the middle of CVS the song "You're the Inspiration" begins to play. I looked up to the ceiling and said really God... you sooo love me! Then walked up to the liberty garden beautiful gate entrance and looked down at the stepping stone that read...
"May this garden be a source of Inspiration, a reminder of yesterday's courage, a reflection of today's strength and a promise of tomorrow's hope"
Had an amazing day at the garden- Just me and God. Put my feet in the waterfall, admired and smelled all the roses, sat in the swing and sang my heart out, journalled and really savored the moment!
Holy Spirit is my Inspiration, My Hubby is my Inspiration, My Sons are my Inspiration, My Embrace Grace mommies and babies are my Inspiration... my list could go on and on!
My ears are being opened and tuned to hear His voice even in the little things. My hubby took us to lunch last week and at Golden China they have an auto-player piano. I was sipping my soup and my ears picked up on the tune... you're my inspiration... i said, oh my goodness, do you hear that? cory had no idea what the song was. I said God is playing this song for me...it's part of our pursuit together.
Then God whispered to me... will you write about this... on your blog? I said YES!
